European surface UV radiation (EUV) product

The EUV product contains the UV Index (UVI) and exploits EUMETSAT's Meteosat data to estimate the reduction of surface UV radiation by cloud cover. Currently, two different Meteosat instruments are providing measurements: the second generation SEVIRI and the new third generation FCI instrument. UVI data are computed from both instruments. In addition, a data record using SEVIRI measurements and covering the time period 2004-2024 has been processed. The EUV product is in demonstrational status and not yet fully validated against ground-based measurements.
